Hospice supporters take on an epic adventure as they trek remote section of the Great Wall of China, from Gubeikou to Jinshanling and Simatai 🥾

Story

In October this year, Bonny and I are walking part of the Great Wall of China in memory of Mark Whitehouse. We will be raising money for St Richards Hospice who were absolutely fabulous during Mark’s last 5 weeks. Nothing was too much trouble and the nurses were absolute angels.

After a long battle with pancreatic cancer, St Richards Hospice gave us the opportunity to simply be his family again. A moment I will always remember, on arrival a nurse saying "you can be his wife again now". It was a breath of fresh air to be given the opportunity to be present with my soul-mate in his final weeks, knowing the care aspect was taken care of.

For the rest of the family, his daughter Zoe, and step daughters Laura, Bonny, his Mum Rose and father George, and granddaughter Bea all found relief in knowing Marks comfort was top priority, which is all you can ask for in those final weeks.

We are forever indebted to the Hospice for what they have given to us and to Mark.

St Richard’s Hospice are reliant on the funding to support families like us. This is why we would like to give something back to support their continued success.

I will also run the Great North Run in September for the same cause.

Please donate as much as you can even if it’s a couple of pounds. Every little helps!

We are taking on an epic adventure to trekking a remote section of the Great Wall of China, from Gubeikou to Jinshanling and Simatai 🥾

The Great Wall is built on rolling hills and some sections have hundreds of thousands of stairs, some of which have begun to crumble and are more like steep gravel slopes.

I am raising sponsorship to support the care and services St Richard's Hospice provide to patents and families across Worcestershire.

Together, we can ensure that everyone in Worcestershire receives the care and support they deserve.
