Story
In true mum, thirty-something fashion, I’ve taken up running! I run regularly (believe it or not, for fun) but, haven’t reached the half marathon distance yet. My goal this year was to run a half marathon so why not run for a good cause whilst I’m at it.
When I thought about running for charity, there was only ever going to be one choice: The Brompton Fountain ♥️
After 13 years working in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Brompton Hospital, I’ve seen firsthand the extraordinary difference they make to patients and families. They don’t just go the extra mile — they sprint it. From comfort packs for unexpected admissions, mattress toppers for resident parents, family movie nights, Christmas magic and presents, vital medical equipment, ice lollies on scorching days, hot chocolate trolleys when it’s freezing. I could go on (and on)!
More significantly for me, I work closely with the charity in my role as a Bereavement Clinical Nurse Specialist. The Brompton Fountain provides unwavering support to families at the most devastating times and helps to ensure that these special babies and children are always remembered. I would love to be able to top up the fund that I constantly dip in to.
Thank you, you wonderful bunch 🩷
