Every year, thousands of young Londoners are pushed into homelessness and danger through no fault of their own. That’s why New Horizon Youth Centre exists. Team New Horizon are racing for young Londoners in this year's Hackney Half Marathon.

Story

I'm running with Team New Horizon in the Hackney Half Marathon 2025 to raise money to support young people experiencing homelessness.

As many of you lot may know, I'm a goalkeeper so I've managed to avoid running for about 32 years... It's not really my bag but thought I should probs give myself a big challenge this year and try tackle the Hackney Half.

Every year, thousands of young Londoners are pushed into homelessness and danger through no fault of their own. That’s why New Horizon Youth Centre exists. I work for this amazing charity, and believe wholeheartedly in the magic that we do. So anything you can spare would be so appreciated!

For context:

Last year 136,000 young people asked for help from their local council because they were homeless or at risk of homelessness. New Horizon are the only youth-specific rough sleeping outreach service and the only youth-specific day centre in London, where young people from all across London and the world can access their holistic support.
