Story

On Friday October 13th, ahead of the annual Unibet Jumps Season Opener at Chepstow Racecourse, a ‘Welsh Jump Jockeys Derby’ is set to be run over the classic distance of 1m4f to raise money for Welsh children’s cancer charity Latch.

We’ve got some of the best Jump Jockeys in Wales together for this special race which is to be a little different to their usual trade! There is already a huge amount of competitiveness between our entrants!

Betsy Williams, daughter of leading Welsh trainer Christian Williams, is currently undergoing treatment for leukaemia. Betsy and her family members have been supported throughout this very difficult time by Latch who do amazing work in helping family members of children affected by cancer or leukaemia in Wales.

LATCH Welsh Children's Cancer Charity, is a voluntary organisation set up to support the requirements of children, and their families, who are having cancer treatment through the children's pediatric oncology unit at the Children's Hospital of Wales. LATCH also funds various projects.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
