Story
On 26th April, I will be running the London Marathon in memory of my beautiful niece, Lilah 💜
Running the Marathon is something I have always dreamed of, but I never imagined I’d be running it in memory of a precious loved one.
I’m raising money for the Forget- Me-Not Support Group. A charity that was founded in 1992. They started by opening a room at Basildon Hospital, called The Forget-Me-Not Suite, a private and peaceful space, specifically for parents who lost their babies at birth.
Lilah was born in the Forget-Me-Not Suite, a place I never knew existed - until our family’s world changed forever. The suite gave my sister, her partner and all of us as a family the chance to hold Lilah, to talk to her, to love her and to say goodbye in our own time. These moments were so precious and they are memories that we will carry with us forever. Without these facilities this may not have been possible.
This is why I want to raise money to support this worthy charity, to help other families facing the same heartbreak, so they are given the same precious time, the same support and the same chance to make memories that will last forever.
The charity continues to work tirelessly every day to support families that have all experienced devastating loss. Every donation, no matter how big or small will make a difference.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and thank you for helping me honour Lilah 💜
