Story
Eight determined individuals are preparing to embark on an extraordinary personal trek to conquer Mount Kenya, standing tall at 5,200 metres, on 18 September 2026. This challenge is not just about reaching the summit; it is a powerful mission to raise vital funds for the Mount Kenya 4,985m cause, supporting The Chiltern Centre.
My personal journey began with setting myself an outrageously ambitious challenge: learning to rock climb indoors in just three months. The journey has already started, and yes, I realize it sounds ridiculous—but here we are. Having already climbed in the Himalayas, reached altitudes of 6,000m, passed Everest basecamp and lived to tell some tales, why would you sponsor me to trek a smaller mountain? The answer is you're not. You're donating to watch me suffer a 22-pitch vertical climb up a wall. I will be out in the elements for the first time. I will be climbing at altitude for the first time. And before any of that begins, I will have endured more than a week of camping, heavy trekking, steep climbing and sleepless nights.
Fracturing my elbow just ten weeks out was another event in life's tapestry of terrible timing! Yet this climb will push us beyond our limits—through steep trails, long days and the thin air of high altitude. These physical trials pale in comparison to the daily struggles faced by those whom this charity serves.
Our journey symbolizes hope and resilience; every step we take is a testament to our commitment to making a meaningful difference. We urgently need your support to reach our target of £8,000. Your generous donation will empower The Chiltern Centre to continue its invaluable work and inspire us as we ascend towards the peak.
Please join us by donating and sharing our story—together we can transform this incredible adventure into lasting impact. Thank you for being part of this inspiring journey.
