As the summer months approach this not so young lady looks at swim challenges! As you know water safety and rescue are very close to my heart and this year I’m really challenging myself to complete this 4km swim in aid of the Borders Water Rescue Team. I’m thinking of it a duck race or Pooh sticks and see myself bobbing along! Any amount, no matter how small, goes to this worthwhile cause. Thank you

The Borders Water Rescue Team provides water based search, rescue & recovery service in conjunction with the emergency services. They are a volunteer team, including Rescue3 qualified personnel who are able to assist with search and rescue of those individuals who have got into trouble in our many areas of water. In addition, they provide health and safety support for many water based community activities such as Common Riding water crossings, film sets & large scale obstacle courses.

They are an essential service on our doorstep providing peace of mind. You never know when any of us will require and be hugely grateful for their commitment and services.
