Story
We are raising money in memory of Adam Hunt and Jonathan Hawkins, two much-loved members of our chess community who we lost to cancer last year, and in support of the many others in our community who continue to be affected by this devastating illness.
Adam and Jonathan gave so much to chess—not only through their remarkable achievements over the board, but through their dedication as teachers, coaches, mentors, and ambassadors for the game. Adam inspired generations of young players through his work in schools and with England juniors, while Jonathan’s passion, kindness, and fighting spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
This fundraiser is our way of honouring their lives, celebrating their contributions, and ensuring that their legacy continues to make a positive difference. By supporting Macmillan Cancer Support, we hope to help provide vital care, guidance, and comfort to individuals and families facing cancer—just as Adam, Jonathan, and their loved ones once did.
Every donation, no matter the size, is a tribute to their memory and a step towards supporting others in their time of greatest need.
