CHESTA ZEBRA RETURNS! The video you can see was produced by Robert Gilbert on Sunday 20 July 2025 with 18 year olds Lulu and Louis as Chesta Zebra and Jan Chillery walking the walk along the Chester walls. Delighting the shoppers despite the downpour.

We’re determined to raise as much money as we can for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, which does such deeply appreciated work for those at end of life.

Chesta Zebra ran in the 2023 and 2024 Panto Horse Races in aid of HOGS, raising more than £1,000 each year. Bessie Belcher of Queen’s Park High School was in the fore and Jan Chillery of Aaron & Partners was “the aft” and in 2024 they won the Best Dressed Panto (oh yes they did).

Now in 2025 we want to raise a record £1,500 and we need YOUR help! Can we win the “Most Funds Raised” prize? OH YES WE CAN!

Jan Chillery is busy training Chesta Zebra, but it’s so difficult because he’s so naughty! Luckily we have David Gilbert to help smooth the fur and furlongs. David has just joined the Hospice as a Trustee and has vowed to wow with his fundraising activities. We are very proud to be supporting our local Hospice and taking part in the race.

It’s hot work under that Zebra fur, but we’re all keen to do our best for this great charity.

The Hospice does incredible work for our community - yet less than 20% of its costs come from the Government. Without your support, we could lose this care centre.
