Climbing Mt Kilimanjaro...SOON!

Since signing up for the climb life has taken all sorts of interesting twists and turns. All excited about the challenge, the very next day I fell, fractured my elbow, and injured my shoulder. The plan to be a training goddess crumbled!

I tried to keep positive hoping it would be just weeks not months to recover. Of course, it took months!! My good old friend hypermobility stepped in to ensure that my ankle, knee, and hip joined in. And for good measure, I got Covid too. At that point, it was a physical and mental challenge to just be ok. I wondered if I'd actually be able to make this trip.

The answer is YES! So I'm off at the end of September to take on this challenge. Wooo-hoo!

I wanted to do it for charity, but there are so many good causes out there that it took a while to figure out which direction I wanted to go in. I'm pleased to say I will be supporting The Olive Branch Counselling in Winchester. They are a local charity that provides long-term talking therapies. I've benefitted from similar work in the past so supporting them makes complete sense. I've visited their facilities and met some of the team and I'm really excited to be able to support them. In order for The Olive Branch to keep their service affordable they depend on donations and grants, that's where we come in. If we can, please let's help them help others.
