We are running the wall in solidarity with Gaza and to raise funds for Amos Trust's emergency Gaza appeal. A group of us will be running/walking in Bristol on Saturday 4th November.
The population in Gaza is experiencing a humanitarian disaster. The bombardment of Gaza has led to untold deaths, injuries and displaced people. Israel’s decision to implement a ‘total siege’, halting all fuel, food, water and medicine to the entire population of Gaza is having unimaginable consequences.
This is a population that bears no responsibility for Hamas’s awful attack that left so many Israelis dead and is already reeling from 17 years of blockade. Families are facing critical shortages of food and water and major sanitation problems. Many are trapped in their homes, with nowhere to flee.
Before the crisis, medicine levels were already precariously low. Hospitals had to rely on their own generators as Gaza’s sole power plant was only operating four hours a day. Now, it has run out of fuel. Israel’s decision to stop all fuel and medicines will have a deadly impact.
If you would like to donate to this emergency appeal, people in Palestine say how much it means to them to see that while governments have abandoned them, people like us haven't. We will be sharing our pictures with Amos friends and partners in Palestine as well as sending relief funds.
