Story

The Cadets of Chippenham Sea Cadet unit are embarking on a remarkable journey to mark the 79th Birthday of the organization's formation. They will be rowing 79 Miles along the River Avon, using Trinity Rowing boats, in a bid to raise funds for the Chippenham Sea Cadets. For nearly eight decades, the dedicated Volunteer staff have been nurturing and empowering young individuals from in and around Chippenham, fostering their physical, intellectual, and social growth through nautical-themed education and leisure activities.

The selfless volunteers do not accept payment for their efforts, and the cadets themselves contribute a small amount each month to support operational expenses. Currently boasting a full complement of 40 young people with a waiting list, this unit stands as a testament to the exceptional quality of its volunteers and the profound impact it has on youths aged 10-18.

The goal is to complete this challenging endeavor in just 9 hours, showcasing their determination and spirit. Every penny raised will directly contribute to providing enriching activities and experiences for the Chippenham Sea Cadets.
