Chipping Norton's fundraiser for Katharine House Hospice - Banbury

Chipping Norton School is raising money for Katharine House Hospice - Banbury

Schools Santa Run · 15 December 2025

Katharine House provides specialist palliative care for adults with life-limiting conditions across North Oxfordshire and South Northamptonshire. We provide inpatient services, specialist nurses out in the community, a Living Well programme, a specialist hospital team and bereavement support.

Story

We are delighted to announce that Chipping Norton School is taking part in the Schools Santa run. This is a fun, festive challenge which gives back to our community by supporting a local charity. The run is a fundraising event for Katherine House Hospice and this Christmas they need our support more than ever.

It costs more than £5.9m per year to run every element of Katharine House Hospice, which equates to £16,261 per day. The hospice receives funding from the government to cover around a third of these costs so our fundraising and retail teams have to raise the other two-thirds: just under £4m per year.

Students will be challenged to run between 3 and 5k around the school fields in one of their PE lessons. Just for taking part we ask that they donate what they can to top up the £1 entry fee payable per student.
