Story
I’m going to be walking the downs link with my Dad from Guildford to Shoreham on Thursday 9th October in memory of my niece Zoe, who passed away 2 years ago this week.at the age of 13.
Chestnut tree house is an amazing children’s hospice, where Zoe spent her final days as well as many respite visits. Zoe always enjoyed her stays here with their great team of staff, her days here were always fulfilled.
As you know I volunteer at the chestnut tree charity shop in Billingshurst.
It’s going to be a very challenging day covering the 37 miles, we would greatly appreciate your sponsorship.
Chestnut Tree House is the children’s hospice for Sussex and South East Hampshire. Thanks to support from the local community children and families who know they don’t have long together have the chance to live life to the full. And, when the time comes, Chestnut Tree House is there for children and families to provide specialist end-of-life care and ongoing support.
The generosity of the local community makes this happen. It costs almost £6 million every year to provide hospice care for local children, with only 21% of this funded by the government. You can show your support by fundraising, volunteering, taking on a challenge, playing the Chestnut Tree House lottery, or leaving a gift in your Will.
