Chloe's fundraiser for Tommy's, the baby charity

Leeds 10k 2024 · 23 June 2024 ·
In 2019, I unfortunately lost my beautiful daughter, Poppy, to a late miscarriage due to a rare and under-researched condition called PPROM.
PPROM is the premature rupture of membranes meaning that my waters broke 24 weeks early, leading me to go into labour at 18 weeks pregnant. When I was told what was happening to me, and I questioned why it had happened, nobody could give me an answer as my condition was (and still is) under-researched. Due to this, there are no known methods on how to prevent it or what causes it. This is just one of the many types of miscarriage and baby loss that is far too under-researched.
I am just one person upon thousands that are affected by miscarriage every year. Some people don't even have the chance to meet their child. I was lucky to be able to hold her for the short time I did.
I’m fundraising for Tommy’s who provide expert advice and fund pioneering research to prevent stillbirth, miscarriage and premature birth.
I am beyond passionate about this cause as the pain I went through as a vulnerable 17-year-old girl was unmatched and still hurts me to this day. To have no idea why what happened, happened. If I can prevent this for any other women, I want to - and so I am taking part in the Leeds 10K on the 23rd June 2024. I am by no means a runner!, but I’ve been working hard to train myself up to do this and am so determined.
Please help support this wonderful charity go fund more research into the cause. It really would mean the absolute world to me.
Your donations allow Tommy’s to continue their vital work – in short you’re helping save babies' lives.
