Story
Where to begin, for those of you that don’t know, a true legend of Rugby League unfortunately lost his hard fought battle to MND. Rob Burrow.
Rob fought for a gruelling, 231 weeks, and not a day went by where he was seen without a smile on his face.
I’m sure most of you knew (partly because I didn’t shut up about it) I ran the 2023, and 2024 Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon. But, won’t be able to take part in 2025.
With this in mind, I’ve decided to set myself a challenge; to run 7km every day, for 231 days. Each day, to represent a week in which Rob fought this cruel disease. Coincidentally, 231 weeks also means running 7km everyday for 7 months, which couldn’t be more fitting, for the Ex-Rhinos Legend, number 7.
The challenge will start on August 2nd 2024, and end on March 20th 2025. I’m so beyond excited, to honour a legend, and raise money for a cause that I’m sure many of you will support. I’ll of course, be posting updates of the runs, and for those of you that would like to join and honour a legend, please do! As Kev Sinfield says, “run for a mate, with a mate”
“In a world full of adversity, we must dare to dream” - Rob Burrow CBE
