Running for Orla – Supporting SPRING Baby Loss Charity

I recently heard from Aurelia Chliwna at Bournemouth Hospital Charity, and she shared an inspiring idea! She asked if some of the funds that Adam and I raise during our run could go towards creating a beautiful garden for Springs. ❤️

We both wholeheartedly agree that this is a fantastic initiative! With Adam's love for gardening, it feels like the perfect fit. 🌱✨

In October 2022, our world changed forever when we had to make the heartbreaking decision to terminate a much-wanted pregnancy.

In the darkest days of our lives, SPRING was there for us.

SPRING is a small but vital charity that supports parents and families through the trauma of baby loss – whether it's during pregnancy, at birth, or shortly after. They offer emotional support, practical help, and most importantly, they make sure no one has to face the grief alone.

Thanks to SPRING, Adam and I were supported. We were guided with such compassion by the wonderful chaplain, James, who took care of all the arrangements for our daughter, Orla. We didn’t have to think about logistics or finances – everything was taken care of, allowing us space to grieve. We will always be deeply grateful.

Now, we want to give back.

This October – the same month we lost Orla 3 years ago – we will be running the Bournemouth Half Marathon in her memory, and to raise money for SPRING so they can continue offering their incredible support to other families like ours.

Our goal is to raise £500 – the approximate amount it cost to support us. Anything beyond that would be a beautiful bonus and help even more grieving families receive the same care and compassion we did.
