Story
I'm supporting Day One Trauma Support by running the 26.2 mile TCS London Marathon. Please support me and help to raise valuable funds for people who have suffered catastrophic injuries. Every donation will make a huge difference.
In February 2021, I experienced first-hand the impact of life-changing trauma. I was hit by a car while crossing the road on my way home from work, suffering extensive injuries - including fractures to my pelvis, spine, and shoulder. That moment changed everything. I’ll never forget the fear I felt about my future and whether I’d ever fully recover.
Today, I feel incredibly grateful - and a little amazed - that I’m now training to run the London Marathon.
At the time of my accident, I was working as a trauma and orthopaedic physiotherapist. In an unexpected twist, I became a patient on the very ward where I treated others. I already knew of Day One Trauma Support through my work, and when I reached out to them, they responded with kindness, compassion, and practical help when I needed it most.
Now, as an Amputee Rehabilitation Physiotherapist, I see the impact Day One has on the lives of the patients I care for. They provide vital services including peer support, financial and legal advice, and assistance for families and carers. Giving people the support they need when they need it most.
Day One receives no NHS or government funding, so every pound raised will make a huge difference to people affected by life-changing injury.
Together we can ensure no one has to rebuild their life on their own.
