Story
In June this year we found out after a year of trying that we were expecting, we were both so excited (and scared!). We went for our 12 week scan and found out I’d had a missed miscarriage, which was heartbreaking.
It took us by surprise when we found out at the beginning of October that I was expecting again but quickly discovered that it was an Ectopic pregnancy. Again this was heartbreaking for us both. 💔
Before we had experienced pregnancy loss, we didn’t quite understand how painful and life altering it is. There is so much stigma around pregnancy loss, and by opening up and sharing our experiences, I hope to help others feel less fear around talking about their experiences. 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage, and it’s a lot more common that people realise.
This January, I’m taking on the Miscarriage Association’s #StepUpforMiscarriage challenge by pledging to walk 250,000 steps – one step for each of the 250,000 pregnancies estimated to end in miscarriage, molar, or ectopic pregnancy in the UK every year.
