Story
Heyy I'm Chloe and I’ll be running the Brighton Marathon in April 2026, with my brother Connor. We are raising money and awareness for Blood Cancer UK, which has become very close to our hearts as a family ❤️
🩸
Recently, our beautiful Mum was diagnosed with Polycythemia Vera (PV) A rare and slow-growing blood cancer that causes the bone marrow to produce too many red blood cells. Mum went for a check up for an ongoing cough that she felt wasn't right. It wasnt until blood results came back, that other things started to get looked into.
🩸
Mum being a typical Mum hasnt wanted anyone to worry or make a scene. The least we can do to support her is raise awareness and funds, so research and treatment can eventually turn into a cure for her type of cancer. Despite everything, she’s shown incredible strength and positivity this year.
🩸
Although PV isn’t curable yet, it can be controlled with treatment, allowing those affected to live a relatively normal life with some adjustments along the way. Mum is currently at this stage now and we are right behind her every step of the way.
🩸
We have so much admiration for both Mum and Dad, especially for how tirelessly they’ve pursued answers. They’ve reminded us all how crucial it is not to ignore our health, no matter how small or insignificant a symptom might seem.
🩸
Your family and friends are so proud with how you've dealt with everything and we’re holding your hand through it all. We love you so much and hope we do you proud 🏃♀️🏃♂️ xxxxx

We're a community dedicated to beating blood cancer. We do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, our community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough. The day we will beat blood cancer is now in sight and the researchers are determined to finish the job.
