Story

I’ve recently joined the board of Trustees at Down’s Syndrome Lancashire, a charity I’m extremely proud to be involved in. The work they do with families across Lancashire from social groups to educational support and beyond is incredible but as all small charities do, we need your support.

Our members are delighted to be partnering with Lancashire Mind dedicating one of the longest day of the year to an incredible feat of endurance walking from 4.30am til 9.30pm! That's 17 hours walking around a track, pushing physical and mental limits and proving you can put one step in front of another when you don't think you possibly can any more, which if you know me you know this will be a challenge!

Mental health is an important topic to all our members, parents, carers, siblings and other family members alike, and it is great to be able to raise awareness and support, alongside 11 other local charities. If you know me, you know I’ve had my own mental health struggles so it means a lot to be able to work alongside an incredible charity like mind and put everything I’ve worked on to the test with this challenge

We are also using this challenge to raise much needed funds for our charity, supporting members with Down's Syndrome across East Lancs and beyond, through family and member social groups and peer support in particular.
