Story
Thankyou so very much to everyone who has sent their condolences to myself and family.
The outpouring of support is absolutely overwhelming and whilst this will never get any easier, it has been so heartwarming to feel like we aren’t dealing with this alone.
I’ll say it a million and one times, we found the biggest support system in the team at Barnsley hospice. From the maintenance men to the nurses and the doctors, you wouldn’t believe the compassion that radiates from these people.
This year I started running with the support of my other half (personal trainer) and signed up for the Sheffield 10k on the 27th of September. I was a little unsure if I was still going to do it given the circumstances, but I’ve decided to do it for mum, and having seen the work that is done at the hospice, I want to try and do some last minute fundraising so that they can continue to support people who need care, and families in distress through what is absolutely one of the most difficult times of their lives.
