Running for Scottish Huntington's Association

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
In April 2025 I’ll be taking on the London Marathon — one of the biggest challenges of my life! I’m running the marathon in support of the Scottish Huntington’s Association (SHA) and my granny Janette who lives with Huntington’s disease.
Jinty was once a marathon runner herself, running the London Marathon twice in support of the SHA and her strength and determination inspire me every day. Now, it’s my turn to lace up my shoes and take on this challenge to support her and others living with Huntington’s.
I moved in with her three years ago and have watched her go from walking laps of the house with her Fitbit to no longer being able to stand. The support my granny has received from SHA and also for the family has been invaluable; offering guidance, comfort and resources to navigate through this challenging time.
Huntington’s disease is a devastating genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain, leading to physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. It’s like having ALS, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s all in one disease, and it affects entire families, as children of those diagnosed have a 50% chance of inheriting it. Right now, there’s no cure—but with your help, we can fund critical research and provide support to those affected.
I’m raising funds for the Scottish Huntington’s Association, a charity that provides vital care, support, and advocacy for people affected by this devastating condition. Every donation will help families like mine get the support they need.
Your donations will not only support vital research and care but also motivate me to keep running!
Thank you for your generosity!
