For my upcoming bat-mitzvah, I wanted to pick a Jewish charity to support children less fortunate than I am. So I have chosen to walk a half marathon around Central London at night time for an amazing charity called Gateways.

Gateways is a specialist school that helps teenagers who are unable to cope in mainstream schools due to poor mental health. Some of these teenagers will not have been able to go to school for months because of their challenges.

Gateways provides personalised education for its students, offering them a comfortable, understanding and supportive environment. As well as core subjects like Maths and English, students are also given opportunities to pursue vocational courses including Hair & Beauty, Cooking and even Photography.

Depressingly, there is a growing wait list of students who need Gateway’s support but Gateways needs to raise even more money to meet this demand.
