Story

I am really excited to take on the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge on 22nd April 2024 for my local chosen charity ‘MIND in Harrogate’.

‘They do great work helping people who are struggling mentally, amongst the Harrogate and district community.

I am currently supporting the charity "Mind in Harrogate" by volunteering in their weekly arts & crafts groups and participating in some of their local events by sharing my own story to raise awareness around mental health.

Improving mental health is something I am very passionate about, due to my own experiences and journey after suffering with psychosis episodes and being diagnosed with bipolar at the age of 16 years old.

The bipolar label definitely does not define who I am, but it encouraged me to experiment with what does improves my mental health, which I now help others do through fitness and encouraging a healthier lifestyle.

Since my diagnosis (6 years ago), I have realised that incorporating movement and exercise daily has such a positive effect on my day and how I feel, as-well as eating feel good foods (80% of the time). These two main changes are proven to release positive endorphins and promote a longer and healthier life!

These- days I am feeling better than I ever have and I am passionate about inspiring and helping as many people suffering with their mental health (diagnosis or not) through encouragement of exercise and delicious (not boring) healthy food, as well as other daily tips that have helped me stay on track both physically and mentally.

Since winning my Miss Yorkshire title, I decided to get involved with ‘MIND in Harrogate’ because they support the local community daily, with walking groups, counselling, arts & crafts groups, mindful events and much more.

So I would love to be able to raise them as much funding as possible so that they can continue the amazing work they do and to hopefully give them some more resources.

We are so grateful for any donations given, big or small, every little helps!

Thank you so much. See you on the other side ☺️
