Evening Echo, women’s mini marathon · 21 September 2025

The Irish Haemophilia Society represents the interests of people with haemophilia, von Willebrand’s disorder and other inherited bleeding disorders. We provide information, education, publications, outreach and support, advocacy, hospital and home visits and conferences and events for people with bleeding disorders and their families. We aim to assist people with bleeding disorders to be positive and proactive with their health and to maximise their quality of life.

Story

This year I am taking part in the Evening Echo Women’s Mini-Marathon in Cork to raise funds for the Irish Haemophilia Society, in honour of our little boy, MJ. As many of you might know, Mj was diagnosed with severe haemophilia B at just 8 months old — a rare bleeding disorder. For MJ, even a small bump can be dangerous, and life has changed in ways we never expected.

The Irish Haemophilia Society has been an incredible support to us — offering guidance, reassurance, and a sense of community. We’re raising money not only to help other families like ours, but also to support education and awareness of this rare condition.

If you’re able to donate, it would mean so much to us. Every euro truly makes a difference. Thank you for being part of MJ’s journey.
