Story
Sadly on the 2nd March 2023 my beautiful Dad (Martin) passed away from the awful battle of cancer. My Dad had battled with tongue cancer back in September 2020 where he underwent radio and chemotherapy and he was eventually given the “all clear”. In May 2022 he received the dreaded news the cancer was back and had spread to his spine. He had spinal surgery to remove and replace part of his spine but unfortunately there wasn’t anything else the doctors could do other than help my Dad be as comfortable and pain free as possible. Dad was so positive throughout his battle with cancer and made everyday count, he never complained and always had a cheeky smile on his face.
Dad spent his last days in St Wilfred’s Hopsice where he received great care everyday and was made comfortable to pass peacefully. The staff were amazing to Dad and all my family, we are extremely grateful for the care they gave him and also the special memories they allowed us to make on his last days.
I will be doing the 5k obstacle course with a friend to help raise money for the Hospice so they can continue supporting people/ families with life limiting and terminal illnesses.
This is a fantastic cause and every penny helps. Thank you so much 💚
