Story
There’s nothing quite as fierce as a group of women who met on a school playground; bonded over forgotten PE kits, lost jumpers and chaotic pick-ups. Deciding it’s a good idea to climb a mountain before sunrise, seemed like the perfect solution to already busy lives 🙈
And yet… here we are.
The eight of us are taking on Snowdon at sunrise to raise money for GIST UK, a charity that supports people affected by gastrointestinal stromal tumours. We’re doing this because one of our mums is facing cancer; something that touches far too many families, and reminds you very quickly what really matters.
We’re not elite hikers. We’re not powered solely by protein bars and motivational podcasts. We are slightly nervous, mildly underprepared, and fully aware that this will involve questionable life choices in the dark, cold, and uphill… a lot of uphill.
But we’re also encouraged by each other, fuelled by friendship, and determined to get to the top together; one step, one laugh and probably one blister at a time. 🙈😅
If you can donate, we’d be incredibly grateful. Every contribution supports GIST UK in helping patients and families navigate diagnosis, treatment and everything that comes with it.
Wish us luck — we’ll need it (especially at 4am)🙈🫶🏻
