Hi friends,
I'm running my first marathon and fundraising for the Gaza Sunbirds, a para-cycling team based in the Gaza Strip.
Since October 2023, more than 50,000 children have died in the Gaza strip.
The athletes provide emergency food parcels and aid to families sheltering. The group runs a grass-roots operation, cycling to deliver aid and partnering with local suppliers, businesses and organizations. Their local network and unique structure allows them to access smaller communities that are blocked off from receiving traditional mutual aid. Donated funds are held in a trust, restricting gifts to support emergency aid so you can be certain your money will have a direct impact.
Alternatively, my friend's contact is personally bringing personal hygiene supplies to Gazan refugees and women in Egypt. Message me directly if you want to give towards those efforts instead.
Thanks for supporting!

More on the Gaza Sunbirds:
"In light of the ongoing genocide, our para-cycling team has reverted all its resources to providing community-led aid to Gaza. To date, our athletes and staff have distributed over $400,000 USD worth of aid.
We are not aid workers, but a group of athletes that knows how to make things happen in Gaza. We launched this community aid campaign to provide essentials to our communities. Our network of Staff, Athletes and Volunteers work together to secure and distribute resources across the South of the Gaza Strip.
We do not bring aid into Gaza. Instead, we source food from remaining farms, warehouses, and supermarkets and distribute them in areas where traditional aid organisations are no longer able to reach. Due to our smaller size, we are also able to respond to individual needs within the community."
