My Story
As many of you reading this may know, Marie Curie is a charity very close to my heart. For those of you who don’t already know, my grandad was cared for by Marie Curie in the Edinburgh hospice in his final days with us. My family and I will always be grateful for the incredible care he received and the support we were offered during that time and immediately after his passing.
This March, it will be 10 years since my grandad’s passing. In his memory, throughout the month of March, I have decided to set myself my own personal indoor swimming challenge. Over the 31 days, I will be aiming to swim a minimum of 10km. I will be doing this between my full time job and any other social plans therefore it will definitely be challenging. The 10km is significant due to the 10 year anniversary, however, I am hoping to push myself to cover more distance. I have also chosen for all donations to go directly to the Edinburgh Hospice due to it holding a special place in my heart.
I really do appreciate you taking your time to read this page. Every donation and page share really does mean everything to me so thank you xx

Our hospice is a warm and welcoming place, supporting people in Edinburgh and their loved ones with expert care, every day of the year.
Our doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and social workers are supported by a team of volunteers, who play a vital role in the running of the hospice.
Some of the people we support stay in our in-patient unit, where relatives and friends can visit any time of the day or night and stay with their loved ones if they wish to.
We also support local people with clinics, therapies and activities during the day including one-to-one care, groups and things like reiki and massage.
As well as people with a terminal illness, we also support carers and families with things like bereavement support groups where people can share their experiences and feelings.
Thank you for supporting us, and helping to make sure more people with a terminal illness in Edinburgh get the care and support they need.
