Story
Hi everyone, I’m Chloe Dennis.
Nearly seven years ago on the 27th June 2019, my husband Craig had a tragic accident at work that changed our lives forever. He fell through a roof and suffered multiple serious injuries including a life changing spinal cord injury resulting in paralysis from the waist down, multiple skull fractures and a traumatic brain injury. Doctors weren’t sure he would survive, but in true Craig style, he defied the odds.
The months that followed were the hardest of our lives filled with fear, uncertainty, and countless challenges. But with grit, love, and determination, Craig pulled through. Since then, we’ve faced every obstacle together and we’ve made it our mission to prove that disability doesn't mean giving up on your dreams.
In April last year, Craig took on the 2025 London Marathon, pushing all 26.2 miles in his everyday wheelchair. It was nothing short of inspiring. Watching him from the sidelines, I made a promise to myself: if Craig could do it without the use of his legs, then I could get out there and run it using my little ones! After all I’ve got legs I can use and a body I can move.
With that in mind I am beyond excited (and slightly terrified!) to say that I’ve secured a place in the 2026 London Marathon running for Team R S Trust, the same amazing charity Craig represented this year. This cause means so much to both of us, and I’m proud to be taking on this challenge in their name.
Now here’s the fun part… until I secured my place I’d never ran before, so this challenge is completely outside my comfort zone! But this means so much to me. It’s my way of showing support for Craig and proving to myself that I can take on something big — even if I have to drag myself across that finish line!
I’ll be sharing every step of this journey from ‘the couch to the marathon’ and I’d love your support. Whether that’s a donation (no matter how small), a share, or just a few words of encouragement, it all means the world to me!
Thank you for reading and cheering me on. Let’s do this ✨🏃🏽♀️➡️
