Walk Together 2026

Chloe Boarer is raising money for Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity

Walk Together 2026 · 5 September 2026

Join us for another beautiful walk through Haywards Heath and Bolnore village and transform a child's life.

Story

Our whole family, Chloe, Chris, Avery, Rafferty, Grandparents Clair and Paul, Avie and Raff’s Aunty Holly and Uncle Scott are all taking part in Walk Together to help children with cerebral palsy, chromosome abnormalities and rare genetic disorders take their first steps towards independence. We will all be walking a mix of 5 and 15k to raise money for this amazing cause!

As some of you know, Rafferty was born 6 weeks too early. He was very poorly and spent a month fighting to survive and grow in Special Care. Not only were we told he may have a rare, life threatening heart condition, but at 3 months old we were told there were concerns about his ‘tone’. This has since transpired into a concern that Rafferty may have suffered a brain injury at birth due to being starved of oxygen. We have been told he may have Cerebral Palsy. Rafferty suffers painful spasms, has difficulty swallowing and has some developmental delays. We were immediately put on an early intervention pathway.

The NHS simply cannot offer the therapy he needs to ensure he has the best chance possible if he is living with CP. The Dame Vera Lynn provides Rafferty with weekly therapy sessions and vital support for Chloe and our family. Their work is utterly invaluable, and we want to give a little back at the start of our journey at this amazing centre!

By walking, I’m helping raise funds for life-changing early intervention, therapy and family support so that these incredible children can work towards a life changing milestone that was once thought impossible.

Please join me by signing up at www.dvlcc.org.uk or kindly leave a donation – every penny is truly transformational.

Together, we can give these amazing children the best possible start in life, one step at a time.

Thank you for your support.
