dRUMMONdANCE DANCEATHON 2026!

Joanne Drummond is raising money for UK Sepsis Trust
In memory of Chloe Longster

We will be taking part in a 12 hour danceathon to raise as much money as possible in memory of one of our beloved dancers who sadly passed away from Sepsis at the age of 13. · 19 August 2026

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.

Story

Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis.

It raises awareness, and sparks the question: “What is sepsis? In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths & unnecessary suffering through knowledge & awareness of the symptoms.

In November 2022, we received the devastating and life changing news that one of our beloved dancers, Chloe Longster, had tragically passed away from Sepsis. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED! And we are doing everything we can to make this known and to spread awareness of this deadly disease so that a death so young never happens again.

She should've been saved and she should've been treated better. A friend, a best friend, a dance partner, a daughter, a sister, a niece, a granddaughter, a girlfriend and a huge animal lover.

Chloe was the light of any room, a genuine soul and the kindest of hearts. She never failed to make us smile and had the most infectious giggle, one we can still hear in the dance studio as we remember her time with us. She was a beautiful person inside and out and she was an amazing dancer whose dance journey had really only just begun.

She took part in the 24 hour danceathon in 2022 where we were raising money for Cancer Research Uk, she was one of the final 3 still going at 10am dancing to Chocolate by DJ in the night! Chloe also took part in the 2022 Feel the Rhythm dance festival and throughly enjoyed the day of performing... and lots of giggles were had, of course! Unfortunately Chloe never made it to a dRUMMONdANCE show in person, but we made tribute to her throughout the show "ILLUMINATE" and her go to moves are still very much part of every dance we choreograph now. She was a massive part of the fun and joy in the dance school, and anyone that was lucky enough to know Chloe would know that she was and will always be "The very best of us".

Let's raise as much money as we can and keep Chloe's Legacy filled with love, fun, giggles and pure joy... all of the best qualities she had. Once a dRUMMONdANCER, always a dRUMMONdANCER!

Forever missed, forever loved, forever 13. <3
