Renovation of 1st Chorleywood Scout Group HQ is underway

Generous funding from grants and donations is enabling us to undertake the long-awaited renovation of the 1st Chorleywood Scouts HQ Building.

Fundraising continues!

We are delighted that The Pineapple Youth Trust has offered to match-fund amounts we raise from Scout families and the local community as we push on to complete the final stages of the renovation work. As a registered charity we are able to claim gift aid too where donors are UK taxpayers.

Combined this means every £10 we raise can be worth up to £22.50 to us. A range of fundraising initiatives will be taking place in the Autumn and throughout 2027.

The funding for the current work is secure, but we are still fundraising for the next steps which will include:

- Replacing the asbestos roof above the loft area.

- Improving the driveway and further improving accessibility.

- Fitting out storage areas for most efficient use.

- Replacing kitchen equipment – we’ll need new pans suitable for the new induction hob.

We’re also establishing a cleaning and maintenance fund to make sure we can keep the new facilities up to scratch.
