Story
I'm taking part in the November Knitting Challenge to support families facing dementia.
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimers disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
My Dad passed away in November 2013 from vascular dementia, it was a cruel disease and it was extremely hard for us as a family to deal with especially my mum who was his main caretaker. He lost his ability to speak and became extremely frustrated but with support from our local dementia group this was a lifeline. Please if you can donate a little it will be a great help to continue to fund these wonderful nurses who provide support as we need so many more.
Thank you
Chris
