Clipper 2025-26 Race · 11 May 2025 to 30 November 2026 · Start fundraising for this event
You will most probably know I tend to take on extreme challenges and in doing so raise money for worthwhile charities and this is the biggest challenge, BY FAR!!!.
In April 2026 I will by joining the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race to be part of the crew on the Team UNICEF yacht for Legs 7 & 8 (from Seattle down the west coast of America, through the Panama Canal, up the east coast of America to Washington D.C., then across the Atlantic, up and around Scotland, down the North Sea through the English Channel and back to Portsmouth). arriving back in Portsmouth at the end of July 2026.
The Clipper Yacht is a stripped back racing yacht and will be teamed by a professional Skipper, First Mate and novice sailors.
Having never sailed before this is a challenge that will take me from complete novice to hopefully experienced open ocean sailor and with my fellow teammates living life on board in very basic conditions of 24/7 sailing as we compete against the other boats in the race.
With nearly two and half months at sea it will be a real test physically, mentally and emotionally.
In the darkest moments of undertaking such a challenge, which I am sure there will be a few, will be the motivation of raising funds for UNICEF and the underlying support you are giving by making a donation.
Any person making a donation and leaves their personal details will be forwarded a live link to see the race, and boats positions as they race around the world.
Legal & General have kindly given me sabbatical leave to participate in the event and all costs for taking part in the event are self funded with ALL sponsorship donations going directly to UNICEF.
UNICEF is both a Charity and Team Partner for the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race..
UNICEF has 15,000 people working for children in more than 190 countries, responding to emergencies and building long-term resilience. We save children's lives with vaccines, clean water, and therapeutic food. We protect children from violence, exploitation, and abuse. We empower children through quality education. And we seek to create a safe and sustainable world where children can live, learn and grow.
Every pound you raise will make a difference to every child, every day, everywhere.
- A donation of £165 could buy a wheelchair for a child with limited mobility
- A donation of £275 could buy a midwifery kit containing all of the medicines, medical supplies and sterilisation equipment for a maternity ward to support the delivery of 50 babies
