We are Contact, the charity for families with disabled children. We support families with the best possible guidance and information. We bring families together to support each other. And we help families to campaign, volunteer and fundraise to improve life for themselves and others.

Story

We are incredibly excited – and just a little bit terrified – to be running the London Marathon this year in support of Contact: For Families with Disabled Children.

For Chris, this will be his third time running for Contact, having first laced up for the charity back in 2015. Now, 10 years later, the vital work that Contact does for families with disabled children is more important than ever.

For Julia, this will be her first marathon. Not a runner (not even a particularly good walker), rather than starting with Couch to 5k, she’s diving straight into the challenge of 26.2 miles, just hoping to stay ahead of the barrier removers and road sweepers.

From their free helpline to the Listening Ear support service, Contact makes a tangible difference to families across the country. They also offer invaluable programs like Better Together, Brighter Beginnings, By Your Side, and the Family Finances Programme, all designed to ensure that disabled children and their families can live their lives to the fullest.

To keep this essential support going, Contact relies on donations. That’s why we’ve both committed to running 26.2 miles around London on April 27th, raising as much as we can for this incredible charity. If you’re able to contribute, your support would mean the world and help Contact continue to make a difference in so many lives.

Thank you for your kind generosity – and we’ll see you at the finish line!
