Story
My late father-in-law had a stroke in 2020 and as a result, sadly lost his eyesight. He was registered blind and received amazing support from KAB including resources to help him stay independent. The most used item he had was a device to help him make a cup of tea! I’d love to raise money to help this amazing charity support more families!
Kent Association for the Blind (KAB) supports children and adults with sight impairments. What an individual may be able to see varies from person to person. That's why our support is tailored around the individual.
KAB provides a range of different services, from social groups and befriending to mobility training and training to use new technologies.
You are making a real difference to people who are visually impaired, like Gill who looks forward to KAB’s social groups:
When you lose your sight, you can feel really isolated. Being part of a group means that I have a good reason to get out of the house - it’s great for your mental health.
