The Great Norfolk Coaster 2025 · 16 April 2025

The mission of Nelson’s Journey is to increase the self-esteem, self-belief and wellbeing of bereaved children in Norfolk, by enabling families and wider society to talk openly about death and bereavement, and for children to express and understand emotions.

Story

In April 2025, Chris Carolan, Matt Hubbard, Sam Carolan, Liam Carolan and Steve Gold will be attempting to trek around the entire coastline of Norfolk in just four days.

The trek will take place from West to East, beginning near to Sutton Bridge on the Lincolnshire/ Norfolk Border on April 16th and finishing at the Potters Holiday Resort at the Norfolk/ Suffolk Border on April 19th. The four individual legs of the trek will all be in excess of 27 miles in length, totalling over 112 miles by completion on day four!

The team members are looking forward to walking every inch of this magnificent coastline, but are naturally expecting some tender feet along the way!

The walk is sponsored and our selected charity is:Nelson’s Journey – a charity that helps children and young people through bereavement - Nelson‘s Journey supports children and young people in Norfolk who’ve experienced the death of a significant person.

Since 1997, Nelson’s Journey has helped thousands of bereaved children and young people in the county. It is only thanks to the tremendous support of fundraisers that our work is possible. “Having someone there for us during our grieving process was seamless. The understanding & guidance displayed during this time far exceeded my expectations.” – feedback from parent.

From the Trek Team: This is a local charity, very close to our hearts, that we know from recent experience makes a massive difference to young lives in this area. If you would like to kindly sponsor the team to undertake the ‘The Great Norfolk Coaster’, then please donate on this page: justgiving.com/page/The Great Norfolk Coaster

We thank you sincerely in advance for your kind donations!

The trek will be recorded for folks to follow our progress (and laugh hard at our blisters!) - update vlogs will be published daily at gingerking76 - YouTube
