Story
Thanks for visiting.
In September, l’m riding from Pisa to Nice over four days to raise money for breast cancer research with One More City.
Why?
Breast cancer has touched my life too many times. My mum has had breast cancer twice. She survived thanks to a combination of amazing care, grit and good fortune.
Of course, many others aren’t so lucky: it takes a life every 40 minutes in the UK. But it also takes an incredible toll on survivors and, of course, their families.
More recently, in the last two years two dear friends have both contracted the disease. And in the last 12 months my three best friends have each lost a parent to cancer.
The Charity
One More City partners with the Institute of Cancer Research. The money raised goes straight to funding PhD students and post-docs. No frills. No admin. No bullshit.
The Ride
Pisa to Nice. Four days. 600 km. Over 9,000 m of elevation. Yes, that is equivalent of cycling from sea level to the top of Everest.
The Ask
If you can make a contribution, no matter how small, I would be hugely grateful. And I will personally match every donation - £1 for £1. There are no costs involved, so for every £1 you give - £2 goes straight to funding research.
Thanks for reading this far, and wish me luck.
