We’re an anti-poverty charity & community of food banks, working together to ensure no one in the UK needs a food bank, while providing practical support for people left without enough money. (Please note we're unable to forward funds onto individual food banks, funds raised here go to Trussell)

Story

Here at NationalGrid we know how important it is to give back to the community. According to the Trussell Trust around 14.4 million people in the Uk currently live on or below the poverty line. In 2022 alone 2.1 Million people in the UK had used a food bank. With Numbers like this already set to rise in 2023 and UK food banks struggling due to demand.

People are relying on Foodbanks now more than ever.

We want to do our bit to help and we need your support !

Our Challenge-

On the 27th of September Some of the VIP and Cables team at Nationalgrid will be doing a whopping 200mile Cycle across Wales to raise funds and support local community food banks.

Starting at Pentir and finishing in Blaenavon covering a total elevation of 18,000ft which is more than the 3 peaks combined!

This will be done over three days, On each day we will call at a local Trussell Trust food bank to drop off food donations.

Day one – South Gwynedd

Day Two- Builth Wells

Day Three- Abergavenny.

The Charity that will benefit from our efforts and your support, will be the Trussell Trust who focus on THE COST OF SURVIVING. The charity supports a large network of Food Banks (1.200) across the UK providing emergency food support to people locked in poverty.

Please support the hard work and efforts from our team by donating whatever you can and help us raise as much money as possible for the Trussell Trust.

Thank you in advance for your support.

We will also be collecting food donations, internal staff please contact Kelly Shaw for information on food donation points.
