Story

Good day, and welcome.

I’m raising money for one of my best mates growing up, Matt.

Matt was a hell of a guy, we could talk music, we could talk beer, we could drink beer, we could moan about the state of the world, and that was back in 2011.

We enjoyed many, many nights out, then I’d see him the morning after delivering milk, smile on his face, no hangover…

This then all stopped when Matt was suddenly taken from us. In 2011 Matt suffered a cardiac arrest in the second place he would call home, the pub.

Matt is the same age as me, so when at 22 he’s suddenly not there and I’m unsure and lost as to why he’s not there, we learnt about the cause and more importantly how we can make a difference.

12 months after Matt passed away we cycled from lands end to John o’ Groats to raise money and to set up heart screenings in our local area, but as a friend that’s all I’ve done. Until now…

So for some stupid reason I’ve decided to try and turn a 17 stone, 36 year old, truck driver, into a lean mean running machine.

I’m doing the great north run.

I hope you can spare anything to help me smash my target and push me over that finish line.

Thanks.
