Story
I'm Chris Doyle, a Consultant Paediatrician working in James Cook University Hospital.
Within our paediatric team, I work as part of our paediatric epilepsy service, offering care to children across the Teesside and North Yorkshire area who have a diagnosis of epilepsy.
As part of out management, we advise parents to try and capture and record any seizures that occur to help us - however unfortunately not all our parents have the means, or even have the time to capture this.
I wish to use my race in the Great North Run to bring awareness to this need, and to raise some funds to provide funds for audio-visual equipment to be donated to families who would benefit as part of their management.
Any donation would be appreciated, and could make the difference in some of our children's epilepsy management.
Message from South Tees Charities:
Thanks to your generous donations we are able to enhance patient care and the wellbeing of our incredible NHS staff by funding initiatives over and above what the NHS would routinely provide.
Whether it’s state of the art equipment, pioneering research or increased staff training, we’re committed to helping our local NHS go further. 💙
