Chris's "50k In A Day" walk for Hopestead

50k In A Day · 16 July 2025
At Hopestead, the demand is growing for the support we provide to local people facing homelessness.
My walk will raise money so we can help more people. As an example, our biggest project, Hope at Home, helps individuals moving into a house with little or no furniture. Ending homelessness isn’t just about providing a roof, it’s about helping people create a safe, welcoming place they can truly call home. So, Hopestead can provide:
• furniture like sofas, tables and chairs, beds, cookers, fridges, washing machines and TVs
• small items such as kettles, toasters, cutlery and crockery
• bedding, carpets and other flooring
People don’t just get what they’re given, they choose items from a catalogue, picking the colours, finishes and styles that feel right for them. It’s a simple but powerful way to build pride, ownership and stability to turn the house into their home.
There is a significant growth in demand and I want to do my bit, so I am pushing myself to attempt to walk 50km (31 miles) in a day. It’s more than I’ve ever done before so it’s a proper challenge.
If you donate it will help Hopestead towards its mission of ending homelessness. Thank you.
