Walk Across Devon For Mental Health

Chris Fleet is raising money for The devon Clinic

Coast to Coast Walk Across Devon · 19 June 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Support The Devon Clinic’s 24 in 26 Challenge — a 109km (68 miles), 24-hour walk from Westward Ho! to Paignton across Dartmoor, raising funds to help provide affordable counselling and mental health support for people across Devon.

Story

I’m taking on a 109km walk across Devon in 24 hours — from Westward Ho! to Paignton — to raise funds for The Devon Clinic, the mental health charity I run.

We’ll reach Dartmoor around 4am, just as the sun is coming up, so the moors will be crossed in daylight.

£1,000 funds around 67 hours of therapy. That’s real, one-to-one support for people living with anxiety, trauma, depression, and domestic abuse — not just in Paignton, but right across Devon.

My personal fundraising target is £1,000, but the clinic’s overall target is much higher because the level of need across the county is significant. Every extra pound raised helps us support more people and reduce waiting times.

I’ll be 62 at the time of the challenge, aiming to lose between 2–3 stone and committing to six months of intensive training to complete it safely. This isn’t a whim — it’s a serious commitment.

The walk takes place on 19–20 June 2026. If this becomes a regular annual event, the combined support of sponsors could play a real role in securing the mid- to long-term future of the clinic.

If you can donate, share, or support in any way, it genuinely makes a difference. Thank you.
