Story
Well, long story short, I lost a bet and it’s time to pay the piper.
Short story a little longer, I haven’t seen my chin in almost 20 years. My beard and facial hair have become a significant part of my identity. When I lost this best and promised to shave the beard, leaving just the moustache, I figured it would be a good excuse to achieve something good with it too!
Many people I know, myself included, have had times where we struggle with mental health. Where ever we might be on that swinging pendulum, having a place and people to reach out to can be the difference between life and death. Personally, I would much rather spend time speaking a close friend at their lowest, than speaking at their funeral. That’s why I’ve chosen to raise funds for CALM.
Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) are a suicide prevention charity. They’ve got loads of tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life-saving helpline for people who can’t see a way forward, have lost someone to suicide, or are worried about their friends or loved ones.
£12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
