Story
This year, I’m celebrating my 50th birthday by taking on the IRONMAN 70.3 in Weymouth.
I read the challenges of other families and I think of my own fortune - I am motivated to raise something for those less fortunate than me/us.
Team Verrico is a no-salary charity supporting families affected by CANCER: every penny donated goes directly to supporting families in need such as:
Counselling for children (£50 per session). Cleaning family home (£15 per hour). Food shopping (£50 per week).
I even saw a story where a family urgently needed a fridge/freezer!
My IRONMAN challenge:
I’m not sure I’m totally ready, but I’m determined to complete:
A 1.25-mile sea-swim, then a 56-mile bike ride through the Dorset hills, followed by an “easy” flat half marathon (13.1 miles).. All within cut-off times along the way!
