I am a big football fan and Hibs supporter! I am really looking forward to the World Cup and especially the Scotland games.

Recently I heard about a young Scottish man called Craig Ferguson who is raising money for charity by walking 3000 miles across the USA from LA to Boston, arriving in time for the first Scotland match of the World Cup on the 14th of June.

I was very inspired by this and thought I could do something similar - just on a smaller scale.

So on the 3rd of June I'm going to walk from Easter Road Stadium (the Hibs ground) back to my home in Colinton, covering a mighty 7 miles! I am going to fundraise for Hibs' own charity, the Hibernian Community Foundation, which supports many different groups to participate in playing football and also does lots of community outreach work. I have never walked such a distance in one go but I've been practising recently and am getting faster!

So watch out for me on the 3rd of June, setting off from the Hibs stadium late morning (possibly in my raincoat...) heading south, back home to Colinton!
