Story
In April 2026, I will be taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon for a very worthwhile and special charity. The East of England Ambulance Service Charity does so much to improve response capability, health and wellbeing of staff, patients, families, and carers in our community. From funding, equipping, and training our vital Community First Responder (CFR) volunteers to community training programs including CPR, Basic Life Support, and first aid, this charity plays a crucial role in saving lives.
Additionally, the creation of wellbeing gardens for staff provides much-needed downtime in a high-pressure environment. Having worked alongside our CFR teams for many years now, I have witnessed firsthand the impact they have during critical moments. Much like the critical care teams I work with, these services are purely funded by charitable donations.
The CFR team is vital to the ambulance service's rapid response to those in need at their worst times. Supporting this charity is not just important; it is essential. If I can run a few miles to raise awareness and generate valuable funds—my target being £500—it will be my absolute pleasure. Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can; it truly will make a massive difference.
