200 mile Coast to Coast Ride in Memory of my Dad

Chase The Sun - North · 21 June 2025
On the longest day of the year, Saturday, June 21st, I will be taking part in the Chase the Sun North Bike Ride 2025.
I will be cycling 200 miles with climbing of 12860ft in a day from East Coast Newcastle to West Coast Aye in Scotland
I will start at sunrise at 4:25 a.m. on the East Coast Newcastle and will reach the West Coast Aye before the sun sets at approximately 10:00 p.m.
I am riding with two other riders from Lincoln and we have a support vehicle to help us with food and drink along the way because this is an unsupported ride. The support vehicle is being kindly provided to us by Gelders Group in Lincoln.
Not only are we riding over 200 miles in a day, but there is also over 12860ft of climbing, which is the equivalent of riding up Mount Snowdon, the UK tallest Mountain, at least 3 times!!
I am undertaking this challenge in memory of my dad, who passed away from a stroke in December.
I am hoping to raise money for the Stroke Association UK, a charity doing vital work in supporting stroke survivors and funding life-saving research.
The money you donate will help to support the work of the Stroke Association, who work within the community to directly support thousands of people across the UK who’ve had a stroke to make the best recovery they can.
The Stroke Association is also the only UK charity to fund critical stroke research. These research projects have helped to develop ground-breaking new treatments to change the outcome for people affected by stroke in the future
When a stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt.
The specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
Please help me raise as much money as possible. There are no medals, no timing chips, just a mission to make a difference by raising as much money as I can.
I appreciate any donation you can make. Thank you.
